OZARK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas Tech University-Ozark plans to introduce a series of professional skills called "micro-credentials" that align with workforce needs starting in Spring 2026.

A news release from the university said micro-credentials are "short, focused, learning experiences that center specific skills and competencies to quickly allow learners direct entry into the workforce." The credentials may also stack into existing academic programs on campus.

The skills training will provide instruction in four key professional skill areas: industrial maintenance technician, community health advocate, fundamentals of supervision and digital marketing.

The release said the micro-credential program is a university collaboration with the Education Design Lab.
