FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KTFA) — Fort Smith Public Schools launched a "transparency" page on its website.

“Transparency has always been a priority for me throughout my 30-plus-year career with the district,” Superintendent Martin Mahan said in a news release.

According to the release from the district, the transparency dashboard was a goal of Mahan's.

The release said he wanted to create the page to include metrics like budget allocations, student outcomes, recent board-approved actions and ongoing initiatives in the district.

The page also includes links to Mahan's meeting recaps.

"Parents and community members deserve to know how their tax dollars are being spent and the outcomes of district efforts," Mahan said. "The Transparency Dashboard helps us achieve that goal and is one way I
