Gas leak reported in Springdale; several residents being evacuated from homes

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A gas leak was reported in Springdale on Tuesday afternoon, forcing several residents to be evacuated from their homes, according to the Springdale Fire Department.

SFD Capt. Justin Pinkley told KNWA/FOX24 that a utility crew hit a high-pressure gas line near Johnson Avenue at Harris Street. The call went out just after 3 p.m.

Pinkley said residents in homes are being evacuated.

Johnson Avenue is currently shut down between Putnam Street and Poplar Street, according to Pinkley.
