Michael O’Connor’s side lost 1-0 at Premier Intermediate League battlers Newry City as Stuart King’s men stormed to a mid-Ulster double.
City had put Portadown to the sword in the previous round.
Newry, who have suffered successive relegations, have won two of their opening four league matches – a 2-1 home success against Ballymacash Rangers in August and a 1-0 away victory over Strabane Athletic last weekend.
In the previous round, King’s side inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Portadown with Lee Newell scoring the winner.
O’Connor had to turn to 16-year-old goalkeeper Sean Hamill with Jacob Carney injured and Mark Byrne suspended after his sending off in Saturday’s 5-1 defeat at Coleraine.
