After years of anticipation, Sir David Beckham has finally been knighted by King Charles III in a ceremony held at Windsor Castle.

The former England captain, a lifelong supporter of the royal family, was officially recognised for his services to football and charity after being named in the King's Birthday Honours list earlier this year.

Inside the castle's grand state apartments, Beckham bowed before the monarch as King Charles placed the ceremonial sword on his shoulders- a moment that drew warm applause from the audience.

His wife, former Spice Girl turned fashion mogul Victoria Beckham, who designed his tailored morning suit, proudly watched from the front row alongside his parents, Ted and Sandra Beckham.
