Dean Langton, president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #54 in Grande Prairie, pinned city Deputy Mayor Grant Berg with a poppy on Oct. 31 – noting it is a symbol of peace, remembering the fallen and keeping their memories alive.

As per annual tradition, Grande Prairie youth have been encouraged to submit their creative works, with a theme of remembrance, for awards on Remembrance Day. The Grande Prairie Legion is still looking for volunteers to deliver poppies – and to be picked up after Nov. 11. Ar
