The United States is dealing with a listeria outbreak in prepared pasta meals that has lead to six deaths and 27 illnesses across 18 states, reported CBS News.
The food is sold down south at major grocery chains including Walmart, Kroger and Trader Joe’s .
The outbreak was first announced in June and has caused a wave of recalls of ready-to-eat pasta meals, reported NBC News.
Cases have been reported in California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
