EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) — Center Jordie Barrett will miss the All Blacks’ tests against Scotland, England and Wales after sustaining ankle and knee injuries in their 26-13 win over Ireland in Chicago.
Barrett will return to New Zealand on Thursday to begin rehabilitation on both injuries, which occurred early in the first half of Saturday’s match.
Barrett’s brother, All Blacks captain Scott Barrett, has already been ruled out of this Saturday’s test against Scotland in Edinburgh. Blues lock Josh Beehre has been promoted from the All Blacks XV as injury cover.
Ardie Savea will captain the All Blacks in Scott Barrett’s absence and Quinn Tupaea and Leicester Fainga’anuku are likely to form a new midfield combination.
