MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - "Montpelier’s bridges have become symbols of connection between our downtown and rivers, our past and future, and most importantly, between people."
Vivian Ladd Tomasi is Montpelier Alive's Bridge Illumination Coordinator. The organization celebrates Vermont's capital city and organizes events downtown.
Montpelier Alive says that the idea to light up the city's bridges began after the July 2023 floods. Seven bridges have been lit with LEDs that change color - symbolizing connection, resilience, and joy.
Three more bridges will also be lit up later this month, which the organization says will complete the project.
First, two free lantern-making workshops will be held on consecutive Saturdays - November 8 and 15. Community members can go to the T.W. Wood M
