TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Texas voters are weighing in on 17 constitutional amendments that will impact issues ranging from property taxes to dementia research, while Tarrant County residents are choosing a successor in State Senate District 9 following Kelly Hancock's resignation to serve as interim state comptroller.
Three candidates spent Election Day making final appeals to voters at polling locations across the district.
Democrat Taylor Rehmet , an Air Force veteran and union organizer, is challenging the longtime Republican stronghold with a focus on working-class issues.
"I'm running because I know working Texans here in this state who clock in early and leave late, who keep this state running, they've been left behind for far too long," Rehmet said.
