OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A 78-year-old woman was hospitalized Tuesday after a crash in Georgetown Township, according to officials.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred at the intersection of 18th Ave. and Port Sheldon St.
According to the sheriff's office, a 1994 Ford Ranger, driven by a 21-year-old man from Hamilton, was driving westbound on Port Sheldon St. and ran the red light at the 18th Ave. intersection.
At the time, a 2011 Chevy Malibu driven by a 78-year-old woman was traveling southbound on 18th Ave. through the intersection.
The Chevy collided with the Ford in the intersection.
Authorities said the woman was brought to a nearby hospital in serious condition while the Ford driver was uninjured. The sheriff's office is still investigating the crash.
