CHICO — Every year is an election year somewhere, and while it may be an off year for political seats in California, Proposition 50 had voters out in full force on Tuesday.

Ballot drop-off boxes were scattered around Butte County and residents regularly made stops to drop off their yes or no votes, sometimes as simply as driving by and inserting their envelope.

Others opted to go to voter assistance centers such as the one at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Paradise, where workers like Aaron Adams helped people by providing information.

By noon Tuesday, the assistance center was seeing lines of people looking to vote or drop off their ballots. Adams said her team had seen multiple rushes by midday.
