SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Northampton residents voting Tuesday in their mayoral race, as well as city councilor and school committee elections.

Incumbent mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra is running for a second four-year term. Sciarra being challenged by Jillian Duclos.

We spoke with both candidates who told Western Mass News what it means to them reaching this point in the race. “It is a whole mix of emotions but I feel really good about the campaign my team has run, we’ve had a huge group of volunteers that have worked on this campaign for many months we’re a grassroots campaign and the support I’ve received from folks has just been so amazing so I’m excited about this evening and hopeful and no matter what happens I go back to work for Northampton tomorrow.” Said Northampton Mayor Gin
