Residents in the village of Washingtonville in Mahoning and Columbiana counties have declined an additional 2.5 mills levy for police department operating expenses.
There were 57 for the levy, and 61 against the levy.
The department covers approximately 700 residents along the two county lines, and would have brought in roughly $26,085 annually, costing property owners $88 for each $100,000 of appraised value for five years.
