Railroad giant BNSF asked the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors again to delay an imminent vote related to the company’s plans for a massive freight rail hub in Wittmann.
The development will require both a comprehensive plan amendment and a zoning change to clear the way for a proposed $3.2 billion development in the northwest Valley. The comprehensive plan amendment, which county staff has previously said is necessary to fix a “mapping error” is scheduled to be discussed by the board at its meeting Nov 5.
