HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) - On Tuesday, the City of Hutchinson announced it will temporarily suspend water service disconnections.
The city said it will not disconnect water services for late payments to help residents who may be affected by the ongoing government shutdown.
"Our goal is to ensure all residents continue to have access to essential water services during this period of financial uncertainty," the city said on Facebook. "The City of Hutchinson remains committed to supporting our community and ensuring that essential services remain reliable for all residents."
The city encourages anyone experiencing hardship to contact the City of Hutchinson Utility Billing Office to discuss payment arrangements and assistance options.
