Waterloo Regional Police say a small pin nail was found in Halloween candy collected in Kitchener.

Police said a caregiver reported finding the nail inside a chocolate bar that was collected on Halloween in the area of Hudson Crescent.

This follows a similar report of a pin nail found in a chocolate bar collected in Cambridge .

In both instances, police said they can’t rule out the possibility that the contamination may have occurred during the manufacturing or packaging process.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

Police reminded caregivers to inspect all candy before it’s consumed.

Any candy that appears to have been tampered with should be immediately thrown out, and all candy should be in the original wrapper.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-57
