ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office has filed formal charges against a 44-year-old man who was arrested following a traffic stop where officers recovered drugs and a gun on Oct. 30.

The Elkhart Police Department reports an officer made a traffic stop on a Lincoln Navigator around 11:50 p.m., Oct. 30, for having a headlight out near the intersection of W. Lusher Avenue and 13th Street.

Police say the odor of raw marijuana was emanating from the vehicle.

Due to the odor, police conducted a vehicle search which revealed the presence of suspected marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and a handgun.

Police say they recovered about 35.5 grams of methamphetamine, 35.1 grams of marijuana, and 8.1 grams of cocaine.
