EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Salvation Army is offering free meals, no questions asked. As part of this, their Sally’s Kitchen serves over 1,000 hot lunches every week.
“The only question that we ask when you come into our doors for a meal is, how much food do you want,” says Brandon Lewis, area coordinator at Salvation Army Evansville.
“This is the meal often that families rely on,” Lewis said. “For their nutritional needs for that day. What that means is practically a lot of the people you see behind me, this may be the only meal that they eat.”
The agency also assists more than 80 families each week through its food pantry.
