Votes are being counted in the New Jersey governor's race, where Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jack Ciattarelli are facing off to replace Phil Murphy.
UPDATE: Mikie Sherrill Projected To Win NJ Governor's Race
As of 9:10 p.m., NBC had Sherrill at 971,674 votes and Ciattarelli at 705,863. The race was too early to call.
Sherrill, a former federal prosecutor and Navy helicopter pilot, is making her first run for governor. Ciattarelli, a former state assemblyman, is making his third bid for the seat.
Recent polls show Sherrill leading by five to seven points heading into Election Night.
