LUDINGTON — Four people were taken to the hospital after an apartment house went up in flames.

It happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 1100 block of E. Pineway Street.

According to the Ludington Fire Department, flames and smoke were visible when emergency services got there.

The fire was reportedly brought under control within 15 minutes of their arrival.

Firefighters said one of the four units in the house had significant fire and smoke damage.

One adult and three children were taken to Corewell Health in Ludington Hospital for evaluation.

The Ludington Fire Department contacted the State Fire Marshal’s Office to help find the cause of the fire.
