Police are appealing for parents or carers to come forward after a naked, non-verbal boy was found alone in Sydney's west this morning.

At around 9am this morning, officers in Blacktown were called to the intersections of Bungarribee and Reservoir Road after a boy was located alone on the street.

The boy is around five years old and is non-verbal.

Police subsequently spoke to neighbours and members of the public in the area, but have not been able to locate his parents or guardians.

The boy is of Asian appearance, around 100cm tall, of small build with black hair and olive complexion.

He was found with no clothing.

Anyone who recognises the boy is being urged to contact Blacktown Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
