KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Voters on both sides of the Missouri and Kansas state lines have taken to the polls to cast their votes on a number of ballot measures and candidates in the November 2025 election.

And in one Johnson County municipality, Overland Park, voters had to decide whether to reelect their current mayor or swear in a new candidate. Now, some of the votes are starting to roll in.

Who is Curt Skoog?

Curt Skoog was elected as mayor of Overland Park in November 2021.

Since taking over the position, he claims to have largely focused on implementing policies and approving projects that support stronger neighborhoods, which he states are the "bedrock of Overland Park."
