Students at a high school in a Chicago suburb will have remote classes for the remainder of the week after a car crashed into one of the school's buildings Tuesday, the school announced.
Around 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a car crash into a building at St. Laurence High School, located at 5500 West 77th Street in Burbank, authorities said.
"As a precaution, and to allow time for safety assessments and necessary repairs to the affected area, St. Laurence will transition to remote learning for the remainder of the week," Mike Madera, Vice President of Enrollment and Communications for St. Laurence High School said in a statement. "This decision was made out of an abundance of caution as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff."
