The first 2025 College Football Playoff rankings have been unveiled with Ohio State expectedly holding onto first place for now.

The undefeated Buckeyes earning the top spot in the rankings is no surprise, as the committee must like that team's chances to repeat and win another national championship in January. Undefeated Indiana holds the second spot right behind Ohio State.

Texas A&M rounded out the top three with its undefeated record, the only team in the SEC who can still claim perfection on the season so far. Expected teams like Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and Ole Miss popped up, too.

Here's what the 12-team CFP bracket would look like if the playoff began Tuesday after the opening rankings. Memphis was not among the committee's top-25 teams in the rankings, but the highest-ranked Group of Five team gets an automatic berth.

These rankings will change each week until we get to the final unveiling in December, so consider this a very early glimpse into what the committee is thinking. It's subject to change as the 2025 season rolls on.
