In June, Zohran Mamdani won the New York City Democratic mayoral primary due in no small part to the fact that he knows how to stay on message. At every turn, he has steered the conversation to the fact that New York needs to be more affordable for the people who live here and has consistently repeated his campaign promises (fast and free buses, freezing the rent, and childcare for all, to name a few).

As election results come in tonight, most polls point to a victory for the democratic socialist candidate. With Mamdani poised to be the city’s next mayor, a lot of attention has landed on his wife. Her name is Rama Duwaji, and she seems really cool.
