COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M comes in ranked third in the first College Football Playoff Top 25 poll of the season . The Aggies are one of the few remaining undefeated teams in the country with an 8-0 record.

A&M trails only No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana in the initial rankings. The Aggies are also the highest-ranked SEC team, ahead of Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss.

Texas A&M is one of nine SEC programs featured in the top 25. This marks the Aggies’ highest CFP ranking since the playoff format began in 2014. The 8-0 start is also the program’s best since 1992.
