ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A stolen car crashed into a St. Louis restaurant that has served customers for 50 years, leaving the business with an uncertain future after a police chase.

The crash occurred at Vinh Chop Suey restaurant on North Broadway near Halls Ferry Road on Monday. A husband and wife have owned and operated the restaurant for five decades.

According to police, a driver in a stolen car was running from anti-crime task force detectives. Even after hitting spike strips, the driver continued fleeing from police before losing control, striking a fire department ambulance and crashing into the restaurant.

The collision punched a hole in the southwest side of Vinh Chop Suey. Co-owner Ngoc Truong was working inside when the crash happened.
