YAKIMA, Wash. – The City of Yakima and the Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY) are inviting residents to nominate evergreen trees for this year's Community Christmas Tree in downtown Yakima.

Eligible trees should be well-shaped, standing 15 to 25 feet tall, with easy access for removal. The chosen tree will be the centerpiece of holiday festivities.

Nominations are currently open, with a final selection to be made by Friday, Nov. 14.

The selected tree will be cut and lifted by crane, ensuring a safe removal process. It will be installed at Millennium Plaza for a tree-lighting ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 7.

DAY is working with the City of Yakima Public Works Department, Yakima Police Department and community partners Russel Crane and Carrell Crane for the tree’s removal and installation.
