The first installment of the 2025-26 College Football Playoff rankings was released on Tuesday night. To no one’s surprise, the No. 1 team in both polls and the FanDuel favorite, Ohio State, was the top team. The defending national champions remain undefeated and are seemingly on an Indianapolis collision course with No. 2 Indiana. Oregon was the only other Big Ten team inside the Top-12, checking in at No. 9.
The SEC was well represented with six teams inside the Top-12: No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 11 Texas, and No. 12 Oklahoma. With a few weeks of chaos left, perhaps no conference has more to gain or lose than the SEC in terms of volume representation.
