Leaning on her incumbency and gargantuan funding advantage, Miami Commission Chair Christine King easily won re-election to her District 5 seat on Tuesday.
Who joins her in the District 3 seat remains to be seen.
King took 84.5% of the vote to defeat challengers Marion Brown and Frederick Bryant and earn a second and final four-year term at City Hall.
In the District 3 race to replace outgoing, term-limited Commissioner Joe Carollo , two candidates — former City Commissioner Frank Carollo , Joe Carollo’s younger brother, and restaurant manager Rolando Escalona — will square off in a Dec. runoff after neither man received a large enough share of the vote.
