WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — One person was in critical condition Tuesday after they were pulled from a lagoon in Kansas.

It happened around 4 p.m. at Winfield's Island Park.

Interim Fire Chief Pete Rowley said witnesses and emergency personnel pulled the person to safety.

The unidentified person was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Their current condition is unknown.

Rowley said no other details can be released now but expected a formal press release to be issued at a later time.
