Denver voters were on track to uphold the city’s ban on the sale of flavored nicotine products. As of 7 p.m., about 73 percent of voters were supporting the ban, with about 91,000 ballots counted.

The Denver City Council passed the ban last year. A majority “yes” vote on Referendum 310 would keep it in place, and the city would soon start enforcing the law. A “no” vote would repeal the local law.

It’s the latest battle in a decades-long fight over tobacco, vaping and public health — and it appeared to be the most expensive local campaign of the year.

In previous off-year elections, about 170,000 ballots have been counted — meaning about half of this year’s result may already be in.
