BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Firefighters battled flames at a building near Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, November 4.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the fire broke out just before 3 p.m. on Main Street near the church. The flames took more than one hour to extinguish.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from a storage shed near the back of the building.

According to BRFD, there were 40 people living or working in the building. All of them were able to escape to safety.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was brought under control before it could spread to any nearby buildings.

The cause of the flames remains under investigation.
