SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) -- The Orange opened its season on the right foot with a 74-50 win over Stony Brook. Four players ended in double digits with Shy Hawkins leading the way with 13 points and four rebounds. Syracuse started off strong with a 22-8 lead over Stony Brook after the first quarter and coasted from there. Dominique Darius and Laila Phelia both finished with 12 points while Uche Izoje ended the night with 11.
Next up, they host UAlbany on Friday at 7 p.m.
