ELLOREE, S.C. — James Kelly Ulmer is set to become Elloree’s next mayor after earning about 42 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election. Two town council seats were also decided, including one contested race in District 1.
Ulmer, who currently serves on town council, is expected to officially take office once the results are certified. He said his top priorities include cleaning up abandoned properties and improving the town’s aging infrastructure.
“I’d like to get some cleanup done. Elloree, I mean, it’s been going downhill for a while. A lot of abandoned properties and I think they need to be cleaned up and the sewer system and water system here need some updating,” Ulmer said.
