CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Wallace Chadwick defeated incumbent Dave Rosado and will become the city of Chesapeake's newest sheriff.
Unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections show Chadwick ahead of Rosado by a margin of 60% to 40%.
Chadwick faced a unique campaign for sheriff; after defeating Rosado by 17 points in the June primary, Rosado refused to concede, and instead left the Republican party and launched a write-in campaign.
Chadwick has 20 years of experience serving with the Chesapeake Police Department. Born and raised in Chesapeake, he served in the United States Marine Corps, and worked up the ranks to become a non-commissioned officer.
