ROCHESTER — Chuck Grassie has been elected the city's next mayor , winning a four-person race in the Nov. 4 election.

Grassie defeated Matt Mayberry, Peter Lachapelle, and Douglas Robbins and will take office in January, when the new term begins.

Reached by phone, Grassie said he was "tired but happy. ... I feel good. It was close, I got about 38% of the vote and Matt Mayberry got about 34%, a difference of about 300 votes. I think the difference is I talked about the issues people wanted to hear about like housing, like the homeless population and he talked about Skyhaven Airport."
