JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Jackson police have identified the suspect they are searching for in connection to the shooting death of a Hinds County sergeant.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Ladarien Tyrese Jones, 26. He is wanted for murder and auto theft.

The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Dorgan Street on November 2, 2025.

According to police, the victim, Sgt. James Dotson, Jr., 32, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
