LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - While players on this year’s Texas Tech football team walk in to practice this week, they now have to pass by hundreds of die-hard fans camped out with grills, PlayStations and Xboxes, all anxious for Saturday’s game against the unbeaten BYU Cougars.

For wide receiver Reggie Virgil, who transferred from Miami of Ohio, he says the ‘campus campground’ is part of the culture shock he’s witnessed all year.

“Oh, that’s kind of crazy because at my old school, that’s probably as much people that would be there at our game, so just seeing the people there, it’s Tuesday! They’ve been here since like Monday, so it’s just crazy,” he said. “I can’t wait to play for them. And I know my teammates; they can’t wait either. It’s really cool.”
