MINNEAPOLIS — The Dennis Hutter era is officially underway at UND.

The Fighting Hawks opened the 2025-26 season Tuesday evening in Minneapolis with a 91-47 loss to Minnesota.

The Golden Gophers closed the first quarter with an 8-0 run to capture a 21-10 advantage. The lead only ballooned as the game progressed.

The Hawks are back in action this Friday for the home opener. They'll take on Youngstown State.

Here are five observations from Hutter's first game as UND's head coach.

The Hawks struggled to find ways to consistently score against the Gophers, embarking on lengthy scoring droughts throughout the night.

UND shot 21.2% from the field and 19.4% from beyond the arc. Minnesota also forced 21 turnovers and scored 26 points off them.
