Chatham County and its municipalities are slated for a projected $700 million for capital projects over the next six years after voters approved the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum Tuesday.
The measure passed with 61% of the vote and continues the existing penny sales tax currently in effect in Chatham County. The current SPLOST, which will end next year, passed in 2019 with 67.58% of the vote.
