SUFFOLK, Va. — Narendra Pleas has won re-election for Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney, defeating challenger Patrick Bales, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections.
As of 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, Pleas received 60% of the vote, while Bales earned 39%.
Before she was elected Commonwealth's Attorney in 2021, Pleas honed her prosecutorial skills as a deputy commonwealth's attorney in both Norfolk and Suffolk. She said she hopes to continue the work she's started.
Pleas emphasized initiatives such as the behavioral health docket and community engagement to strengthen the office’s role in public safety and community engagement.
