In an alleged targeted killing, a 20-year-old man was shot dead and his friend suffered injury at Manki village under the Khanna Police jurisdiction of Samrala sub-division in Ludhiana district late Monday night.
This is the second such shootout in the district within five days. Earlier on October 31, 25-year-old kabaddi player Tejpal Singh was shot dead near the SSP office in Jagraon under the jurisdiction of Ludhiana Rural Police.
Khanna police identified the deceased as Gurwinder Singh, alias Kinda, of Manki village, a ‘kabutarbaaz’ (pigeon-fancier), who would rear and train pigeons for the sport.
