Incumbent Jody Pugh led the race for two open seats on the five-person Santa Fe Community College Governing Board on Tuesday night, capturing 47% of the votes, according to preliminary results, essentially guaranteeing her a second six-year term.
Reached by phone Tuesday evening, Pugh said she was not surprised but was “honored and in awe” of the amount of support she’d received from the community and happy to continue working with the board toward shared goals of fiscal responsibility, collaboration with other schools and a focus on workforce training.
"It’s a great team of people, and the college is a great place,” she said. “I feel good about it."
