More events and festivals could be held around the Harbourside but drivers might have to pay more to park. The ideas are part of a five-year plan looking at how to boost income from the site.

At the moment, parking fees are an important part of the harbour’s income, but Green councillors have criticised this and say the number of spaces nearby should be cut.

Over the next five years Bristol City Council is hoping to balance the harbour’s books, by attracting more tourism, as well as events, festivals and an increase in car parking fees. Mooring fees for people staying on boats could also increase.
