In the most-watched race of the election, eight candidates sought four Akron school board seats.
Akron voters chose from school board member Gregory B. Harrison and newcomers Nathan R. Jarosz, Karmaya Kelly and Phil Montgomery to serve on the board.
The winners will start their four-year terms Jan. 1.
School board member Gregory Harrison and three newcomers have won the race for four seats on the Akron school board , according to unofficial election results .
With all of Akron's precincts counted, unofficial election results show that Phil Montgomery , Summit County’s finance and budget director with two children in Akron Public Schools, captured nearly 17% of the roughly 66,400 votes cast.
