The Victorian Labor government has been accused of “gross mismanagement” after more than 100 government agencies were found to be operating in the red.
Annual reports tabled in parliament last week show that at least 103 government agencies and departments have failed to stay within their budgets, with the total net operating loss amounting to $3 billion.
Shadow treasurer Jess Wilson said the annual reports showed Labor’s financial mismanagement had seeped into every part of the state government.
“Every single day, Victorians are paying the price for the financial mismanagement of this government," Ms Wilson said.
“Agencies, hospital services, departments, Victoria Police, all suffering operating losses because of the financial mismanagement in this state.
