KITTERY, Maine — Megan Greenwood was victorious in the four-way race for a one-year Town Council term in the Nov. 4 election, defeating three other candidates.
Council incumbents Mary Gibbons Stevens and Celestyne Bragg were re-elected to three-year terms in the municipal election, beating out one challenger.
Women now make up the majority of Kittery’s seven-member Town Council, with Greenwood set to flank the newly-re-elected Stevens and Bragg, in addition to current chairperson Judy Spiller.
Greenwood is a citizen member of the town’s Comprehensive Plan Committee and a sales representative in the outdoor industry.
The councilor-elect received 1,288 votes, according to unofficial results released late Tuesday evening.
