Scarlett Vavrence potted a goal with 13:05 remaining, and it stood up as the difference in South Hunterdon’s 2-1 win over Bordentown in their South Jersey Group 1 playoff in Lambertville.
It was the fourth straight win for the fifth-seeded Eagles (16-3), who’ll be on the road at fourth-seeded Gloucester Thursday for a sectional quarterfinal.
After a scoreless first half, the Scotties took the lead on a goal by Elizabeth Williams with 9:44 left in the third quarter, but South Hunterdon answered with Sydney Powell’s 17th of the season less than three minutes later.
It was the end of a three-game win streak for Bordentown, which fell to 9-10.
